Contest Results!

Finally, the long-awaited contest results! Continue on, dear reader, and be amazed!

Here are the top 3 entries, along with commentary.

3rd: CRAZY TIMMY'S CUTPRICE GOBLIN BONANZA
3 x Crazed Goblin
3 x Goblin Striker
3 x Goblin Tunneler
1 x Goblins of the Flarg
3 x Merchant Ship
2 x Sibilant Spirit
4 x Storm Crow
2 x Defensive Stance
2 x Giant Strength
4 x Orcish Oriflamme
3 x Chaotic Strike
4 x Counterspell
4 x Lightning Bolt
2 x Mana Leak
12 x Island
12 x Mountain

Legality: 5/5
No problems here.
Originality: 4/5
While the cards used aren't the normal contenders for the aggro part, the control suite is pretty standard fare.
Playability: 3/5
This is about as straightforward as a deck gets. Play dudes early, keep the beats coming with control backup. Though I suspect this deck straight-up folds to midrange.
Style: 5/5
Storm Crow, Giant Strength, and Chaotic Strike. Giggity.
Total: 17/20

2nd: COMBOOM!
4 x Kaboom!
4 x Personal Tutor
3 x Call to Mind
2 x Scrambleverse
2 x Aladdin's Ring
2 x Feldon's Cane
2 x North Star
4 x Fire Servant
1 x Leviathan
1 x Polar Kraken
2 x Storm Crow
2 x Zephyr Spirit
4 x Brainstorm
12 x Island
15 x Mountain

Legality: 4/5
While Zephyr Spirit and Scrambleverse certainly fit in and do something towards the goal of the deck, North Star seems like a throw-in that doesn't really fit.
Originality: 5/5
I don't think I've ever seen Kaboom! combo before. In the history of ever. Much less with Polar Kraken as a potential target.
Playability: 3/5
There's not much of an early game here, so in a 2-player matchup you're probably gonna die early or get controlled out of the game. But in multiplayer you are almost incapable of painting a target on your face, so you certainly can wait it out until you can pull off Personal Tutor/Kaboom!/Scrambleverse. "Play by hoping nobody kills you until you can get your Kaboom! on" is probably the shakiest strategy.
Style: 5/5
Kaboom! for 16 using Fire Servant alone is giggle-inducing, much less the inclusion of Polar Kraken.
Total: 17/20

1st: Bilbo's UW
4 Ancient Den
4 Celestial Colonnade
4 Glacial Fortress
8 Island
4 Seat of the Synod
4 Dark Sphere
4 Preordain
4 Voltaic Key
2 Capsize
2 Celestial Dawn
2 Donate
4 Drift of Phantasms
4 Fabricate
4 Metalworker
2 Reality Twist
1 Temple Bell
2 North Star
1 Sen Triplets
1 Blightsteel Colossus

Legality: 5/5
No problems here.
Originality: 5/5
Metalworker seems to be the backbone of everything going on here. Also, Donate combos that don't involve Illusions of Grandeur get points, but making use of Sen Triplets via North Star is effective enough with the Worker.
Playability: 4/5
I think I'll have trouble forcing a Metalworker through until I can untap with it, since it's essentially the only creature and the control suite is limited to Capsize. Seems like when this works, it's awesome, but when it doesn't, you're screwed.
Style: 5/5
Again, Donate not using the Usual Suspects alone gets points. I think you'd be better off using Eon Hub to get around the Reality Twist problem but Capsize doubles as something useful too.
Total: 19/20

So, we have a winner and a tie for second! And using the Super Dee Duper Playoff-izer Manuper, I determined that COMBOOM! beats CRAZY TIMMY'S CUTPRICE GOBLIN BONANZA!

Congratulations, everyone! You'll be receiving an e-mail shortly to clarify the details of your prizes!
