Bushido was really an overvalued mechanic by R&D, and suffered from extreme Kamigawa Syndrome. That is, it's so specific it can't ever be used again in any other set without significant revision in either mechanics, creative, or both.
Bushido was very much a Timmy mechanic. It relied on creatures bashing into each other to gain any effect whatsoever, which Spike tends to avoid as much as possible and Johnny often eschews entirely. It was also only on Samurai (Greater Morphling doesn't count). So, it wasn't going to affect tournament play very much. But apparently, slapping "Bushido 1" on something increases the CMC by 1. So you have things like a Gray Ogre with Bushido slapped onto it, and they called it a day.
Unexciting.
But apparently, R&D decided that simply having a not-very-competitive mechanic wasn't enough, and they needed a real crapfest to showcase it. Behold:
Wow, where to begin?
Let's start with its viability as a creature. It's a 1/1 for 4. Strike one.
Does it have the ability to get better, or a kickass ability? Just Bushido 2. Strike two.
Does it have protection or resilience of some kind? Why, yes! It regenerates! It's like a terrible version of Drudge Skeletons so far! Except... wait. Is that a cost of FIVE LIFE to regenerate? Shit son, when is anyone going to care enough about a 1/1 that it needs to take a quarter of your life to keep right on chumping? Strike three.
There's nothing redeeming about this card. If it was a 3/3 for 3B that had that regeneration ability (but not Bushido), I probably still wouldn't play it, and then only in limited. The best function for this card is to make others look good.
I mean, at least Chimney Imp flies.
